If the dental office did not know it was there, or the wisdom tooth removal
was more urgent, than the decay will be postponed.

Possible, but very highly unlikely.

Judging from past and recent history, it would be a possibility that you
have multiple teeth with problems, and you will not feel 100% until all are
sorted out.
