I have a cavity on my back upperleft side. I know that it is probably to
the nerve since drinking and eating hurt really bad. Itis to the point
where even breathing hurts. Since it is a holiday weekend the dentist I
regularly see will not be back tell Tuesday. Is there any kind of temporary
filling I could put in tell I can see him on Wednesday.
Thanks
Monica

Yep, indeed there is.  I bought a little kit a while back at my local
Kroger store.  It's called Temperin, by DenTek.  It's a little bitty
bottle with the filling material, along with some little applicators.
And the stuff stays good and firm for about a week.  A good product.
I think it was around $4.

When I had an infected wisdom tooth, I found "Kanka" worked nicely.
Benzocaine and some wax to seal it on.

Anbesol, Oragel, and some others are benzocaine in a cream. Might also be
some help.

I've not tried Dentemp. I did ask my dentist about that kind of thing awhile
back. He says it's likely the same eugenol paste that he uses. It would have
to be scraped or drilled out when you got to the dentist when the office
opened.

One time I read an article about a dentist who was out on a camping trip.
His young son cracked a tooth on a granola bar. He used a bit of candle wax
to seal the tooth. Beeswax might work better.
