Cavitron use by laity?

Is  a high level of skill required for use of Cavitron?

It appears to be (?)  a fairly simple process when used on someone who
maintains good hygiene (no excessive tartar etc).

Can it only be purchased by dentists.

Are there many other preparatory steps like sterilization, etc which
would make it difficult to do at home?

Is the subsequent polishing very necessary.

Are there any similar products geared towards consumers.

Does this guy try to do his own Lasix surgery too?

Thanks for showing us you are a smart alec. The man asked a question. I see
the *gentleman* dentist here DR. Steve Bornfeld , answered it. ALL of you
could learn for him.

Yes.  I would say that using it on one's self requires a prohibitively
high level of skill.  I certainly wouldn't use it on myself.

It is not necessary for someone with no "excessive tartar".

> Can it only be purchased by dentists.

    Legally, yes.

If you're going to do it right, the tips need to be sterilized

> Is the subsequent polishing very necessary.

Only if you want to get the stain off too.

> Are there any similar products geared towards consumers.

Closest products?  Toothbrush and floss. ;-)

Well this was entertaining.

I read somewhere that a fair amount of dentists clean their own teeth.
True?
Anyone do it here?
