I finally found a great, young Endodentist.. Last Oct. She did a Root
Canal(part 1) in 2 days.. paid in `cash..I praised her.. recommended
her,, etcetc.
Then,..a very Blizzardy winter closed our roads, and I had to cxl the
next 2 visits.(giving plenty of notice...
i n March I made another appt. but had emergency Angioplasty, and even
called from the CCU 3 days before the appt. so they could schedule
another patient.

When I called to make an appt. for the Post and Crown.. I was told :"
Bcs. of your history of cancellations, (2 )! we won't see you.. we'll do
1 emergency appt. (bcs the temp.filling is leaking"

I'm devastated bcs.. it's hard to find a capable Dentist I feel
comfortable with.. (Had had 2 bad experiences with verbally abusive male
Dentists..so now I'm more apprehensive about the rejection and further
search.. than I am about the tooth!!

Is there anything one of you can suggestI say to her to convince her to
keep me as a patient??  I even offerred to pay EXtra!
and I'm a really nice, polite lady..
This is so strange to me...

Could it be that she's young and fairly inexperienced in practice?
Thanks in advance..

Could also be an overzealous front desk person and the dentist doesn't
even know what went on.
Send a note marked "confidential".  If the dentist has a direct e-mail
or you know where she lives, consider a note at home.  You could be
doing a favor for the dentist.  If your story is accurate, I cannot
imagine a patient being turned away by a dentist who knows what went on.

Absolutely.
Things happen and the astute practitioner doesn't let this
interfere with the doctor/patient relationship.

Or the doc doesn't know what the front desk is doing.  It happens

I'll see her ina few hours.. The Secretary said it  wasn't her
decision...w/ try to plead with the Dendist..But I fear she'll only
replace the tenp filling and not even do the Post and Crown..

Can someone recoomebd a really kind, caring Dendist in Suffolk County,or
even Nassau. CTY. ? .. who gives Sweet Air? Many of them don't..

And it's important to me..as I have 8 herniated Discs in my back, and
just Novacain doesn't releve the back spasms..
My smile is the best part of me and it's practically all I've got left!

My Supermodel DIL,Paulina,  whom I've never met is coming to visit soon
from overseas with the new first baby and I want to look and feel my
best...

You can see her on my son's website  at www.jamesbrandon.com

Anyone who "Treats me right" will be well rewarded!

Thanks, James"s Mom..

Endodontists don't do posts and crowns.

As opposed to Foul Air, ITYM Nitrous Oxide

Easily dealt with.

I prefer cash.

My regular Dentist sent me to this Endodenist bcs he said that's who
does Root Canals.. and Posts and Crowns..
I do pay cash.. and in advance..
and by "Treating me right" I meant decent, serious factual help.. and
"Rewards from me" meant tickets to Broadway shows, etc..

Oh, Well...

I don't know many dentists in Suffolk cnty (I'm in Brooklyn) but I had
an office in Lindenhurst in the early 1980s.  If you're looking for an
endodontist, I can recommend without reservations Dr. Anthony Fragola,
who was president of our dental school class, a classy guy, and a
first-rate endodontist.  I haven't seen him in some years, but unless he
moved he is on Montauk Hwy in W. Islip.

Good luck,
Steve

Thank you, Dr. Bornfeld. for the cortuous response.
The x-ray and exam showed no infection or damage.to the "temporary
filling".
However, she referred me to Dr. Fragola, too..for follow-up work..saying
she doesn't do "repeats"...
She prescribed Motrin
and Clindamycin.

She just had a baby.. maybe she's tired.
maybe she's blue.. maybe it's the Eclipse..

My Cardiologist's nurse recommended someone in Bayshore . I made an appt
for   a consult for next week.

I guess I'll have to find a  good crystal ball, as my attorny kin say,
before starting any  long-term procedures so I won't miss appts. due to
weather conditions...

Having Heart surgery was a snap and a pleasure compared to this.. its'
like... dare I say it?... like pulling teeth!

That's another possibility.  Patients that have had recent heart surgery
'scare' some dentists.  They don't want any possible liability should
more heart trouble ensue.
