We live in London Ontario- 2 hours west of Toronto.  My 19 year old son
needs a lot of dental work done and he wants to be "knocked out" to have
the work done.  I am having trouble finding a dentist in London that does
this.  There are some dentists in Toronto that will do this, but that is
far away and I have poor health to help him get there.

If anyone can offer any advice here we really need some help with this.

Ignore Joel, he's too stupid and senile to even put everything in one post.

Never take general anesthesia. But why is your son such a chicken sh.t over
some dental work? Do you think that's a good pattern to get into at 19 years
old whether it's going to the dentist or anything else in life?

If he's that much of a coward have him take some Xanax and suck on a
Fentenyl lollypop.

REPLY

Dude! Conscious Sedation is not general anesthesia.
I would explain but there's no point!

Thank you for your responses.  I find a little aggression here, so I will
not return to find out what you post, however I have to say the following.

My son has a severe fear of dentists because of some problems with his
teeth when he was young.  I had taken him to a Children's Pediatondist (?sp)
when he was very young and it was not a very nice experience for him.

I could go on and "explain" details to help you understand why he is so
afraid, however that seems a rather odd thing to do on a website that is
about helping one another.  Making the reference -"that is not a good way
to be at 19", is a very shallow comment. I was looking for help, not a psyc
evaluation.  Some people are so critical.
I have some severe health problems myself and am healing the last few
years, despite the odds given to me. So please understand, I do not have
the energy to "defend".  I do not understand why people are
confrontational.  Referring to someone as a chicken sh.t-- is hardly
helpful.  Sounds like adding salt to a wound.  I am happy I didn't have my
son do this post himself.  I guess some people have an issue that some
people truly are afraid of dentists.  My son is not the only one on the
planet who is that afraid of dentists--- and you have no idea what kind of
experience he has been thru-- compassion would go a long way on this
planet.  Obviously this is not the place to find any-  WOW.

Thanks for your help-- but it was a little "loaded"!

Namaste

PS: write back if you like-- but like I stated at first-- I will not be
returning to even read what you write-- too hostile for me-- find someone
else to project at.

Joel's advice was right on.  I did not see the responses that upset you.  I
would guess that they were from some of the non-dentist resident trolls that
I have blocked on my newsreader.  Block of few of these trolls and it's
still a pretty good group.

Thanks Dan,

I think she was posting about another reply ......

I agree with Shari .... fear is fear. Its not a consciously held belief
.......

For that we have conscious sedation.
