I am at 40 years old having my teeth repositioned with plates upper
and lower for a month. I did experience much pain in the jaw. The upper
incisor has dropped a few mm. and is lower than the incisor next to it.
I have been told by my dentist that my tooth has "erupted'. My plate
was readjusted. What are the implications of this? Will the tooth go
back up? My dentist seemed embarassed and not willing to talk much
about it. He is not an othodontist. I am naturally anxious.

We presume you mean Invisalign.

If the appliances are bite plates where your back teeth hit and your
front teeth do not, I wouldn't count on the tooth going back up. Your
dentist must address this if he has not. Perhaps you misunderstood?
