Hi YA Joel-- Can you or any of your scimed friends
help this woman?
Can this happen?
I had my third molar removed, for it was hyperthropic,
I guess sitting very high and would be in the way when
I wore my new upper denture. I had the rest of my
upper teeth pulled, 6 in all, and the 3rd molar. I had
post-composites along with 4 originals pulled.
Now, right below my nose feels dead like. This seems
internal. Also some numbness on the forehead, around
both eyes, across both cheeks. The nose bridge, down
both sides of the nostrils is numb-like. I have numbness
the right side of my upper lip, very noticeable. My
upper gum is numb-like, mainly middle and going to the
right more so.
I feel like it is a mask that I am waring. I have
tightness, pressure and pulling. I raise my eyebrows to
take the sensation of pulling down away. I hate it
feeling like this. Rubbing my skin, well it feels like it
is not my own skin. There is so much more to this
complexed facial numbness.
In about 3 weeks, after the swelling, and being on
Vicodin, I had the electric like shocks. For 5 days this
happened on the right cheek to the bottom teeth. The
intenseness became less and less. But continued for
about 6 months and now ever so often they happen. The
pain level is low with these now. I had also used a tooth
lightner kit for the bottom teeth before having last
dental work on 2 more right bottom teeth.
I noticed that the skin flap, connecting the upper lip
to the upper gum was cut in the 3rd week and maybe the
denture did it, not sure. I never thought to pull up
the upper lip high to view this area. It is still
hanging, a piece of skin.
Any help on this to understand what happened would
heer me up.

Actually, do not like to invade a person's privacy. And not sure this is
proper protocol. but did answer this person via email with my theory, as I
thought that may be a good possibility, same with dogzoo, (if you remember
him, said he had an auto immune illness, uveitis). No follow up from
either.
neither good, nor bad so what does that mean. your guess is as good as
mine.
Is no news good news. because this is clearly a case of their not caring
to follow up.
I do not interfere in dental matters for the most part, but these posts had
an element of other factors. Many dentists tried to help, and still no
followup. These are the puzzling outcomes.

Apparently this can happen as the woman related. It would be interesting
to know if situation has improved or is still in the "what to do" stage.
What procedure was or is being followed. This seem to be from the "What
the heck is this" thread. It is subject to speculation if original person
does not comment further. fiirst question is "does it still hurt if your
husband kisses you" That could have far reaching consequences.
