Hi
Hope you do not mind me adding to your comments. I am sitting here
right now in a great deal of pain from my tooth that 2 years ago had
root canal treatment( and expensive it was too). I am reluctant to have
it extracted as it is near the front and a gap will show. If I did have
it removed what are my options apart from bridging (this is my dentist
only recommendation).
Look forward to some advice.

Does anyone, you, the dentist, anyone have a ditigital or film
radiograph so the good dentists at SMD can comment effectively?

There are three ways to replace a missing tooth:
1) fixed (cemented) bridge
2) removeable bridge (aka--partial denture)
3) dental implant
If the patient's anatomy (sufficient bone, adequate space in relation to the
sinuses) and health history permits it, then an implant is the way to go
for a single tooth replacement.

See an endotontist (root canal specialist) , there are other reasons
for tooth pain .If the root canal looks good then find what the eal
reason is. If the root cana is bad have the root canal redone. Root
canals can be poorly done......Bill

Hi, I did not know that there was pain after a root canel. I thought pain is
gone after they pulled root. How about a cap. Bonding looks good to and
lasts long depending on Dentist's workmanship. I have seen beautiful quality
work on people who have had the best caps, lasting long to. IM no Dentist
and I hope they give you good advise and alternatives so you can choose what
makes you feel best. There is no price to have good strong teeth that look
and feel good. Good Luck...MC
