They are not required at this time. Would recommend talking to an EMT, they are the ones on the front line that probably use them the most. The ones I have seen are around $3K, but are foolproof. What means foolproof? Never "stand clear" and "shock" a normally beating heart! We have one in each office and were lucky to purchase them through an EMT friend of one of my partners. I believe we got them for $1700 each. A story was in the local paper about two years ago about how 7-11's (or some mini-mart) were now carrying them. I still dont think they are mandatory in DE but we figured it was only a matter of time. We have the Medtronic lifepak and it is idiot proof. >>Who has one in their office? What kind? Depending on which office I am at, its either the Commodore or the Delaware Memorial. Summer time means I am doubly screwed; Rehoboth or NJ beach traffic leads to a coin toss on the way home. Not fun. BELL Helicopters, out in Mirabel Qc has just been awarded the contract to make some small city commuting-type whirly-birds. I think this will put an end to the noise problem with these things. Personally, I think the answer to this problem is the good ol' AutoGyro type of air vehicle. There was a parish priest around here ( in the countryside parishes somewhere ) who learned to an the AutoGyro to go and visit his parishoners, who were from the surrounding farms and whatnot.
