You-all'd-a LOVED it up here today (Sunday): the temperature was just
below freezing, lots-a sunshine, good ski hill conditions, and not too
many people. The kids are  taking lessons, and so Dad decided to join
them this afternoon. I looked like a black garbage bag comin' down the
hill, on 20 year old skiis, but WTH, it was a good day. Gawd... it's
been years since I was in shape enough to go skiin' and it felt good.

The kids, of course, wanted to disown me, as I was without doubt the
worst dressed dude on the hill... But, again; WTH... it felt good to get
the ol' knees pumpin' and all... and BLASTIN' past all those stuck-ups
in their high-fashion Gucci ski suits that would rip apart should they
ever fall.....;-)

<sigh....heh heh heh....>

    Just below freezing?
I spent one week near Mt. Tremblant about 15 years ago, cross-country
skiing.  This was about the beginning of March.  I think the warmest day
it got up to about 15 degrees F.  One day it was about -30 degrees at
the BASE of the mountain--and a few folks went downhill skiing.  Just
wacky, wacky weather.

Yeah.... Don't think we'll get too much of THOSE days again...
'specially if China and India decide to go ahead with the proposed
fueling of their new booming economies with coal. The rising global
temperatures will put an end to low temperatures in March... and the
skiing too.

Good mountain, though... 'specially on the North side. You can skii on
that side well into May in your shorts. Bein' toward the North, it stays
froze for quite a long time after the mountain is officially closed for
the summer.

...and we will probably have a lot less Canadian cash circulating here in
Florida.

Minor twinges of jealousy. I've been wondering if they would still let me on the
slopes with my 20+ year old bindings.

PS, didn't notice the attachment on the email till much later. Was that the
whole Fam Damily, or were there extra's trying to hide?.

The two up front, little girl and little guy is all. The riff-raff in
the background are now dead.

Darn!!!  And to think I wasted my time sitting on a beach on Isla Mujeres in
85 degree sun-shine, when I could have been sitting the snows of Canada.

Actually, you probably hit the Mujeres at JUST the right time... all the
heathen tourists would be gone, leaving regular permanent resident
foreigners to show you around, good service where ever you go. (That
used to be a TEXACO commercial....). If you took any pictures, pls post
a couple. 'Specially of scantily clad local women folk....  ;-)
