I'm 31 and am about to have all 4 of my wisdom teeth extracted.  2 on the
top are fully out and 2 on the bottom are impacted.  Can someone with the
same experience tell me what to expect (pain, recovery, etc.)?

You might want to try searching the archives ...

Have you tried calling your dentist?  I'm sure he/she could give you
some useful info.

Usually no problem with the upper. Although there are risks of sinus
perforation root tip, damage to adjacent teeth.
On the lower expect Swelling like a chipmunk, limited opening, PAIN you
may not be a happy camper.

Complications include post op infection, bleeding, dry socked(very pain
full healing) damage to adjacent and opposing teeth and restorations,
nerve damage resulting in numbness or partial numbness of the affected
teeth, jaw cheek lips, tongue, gums  on that side of the jaw. The
numbness if it occurs is usually temporary ie 6 months to 1 year but if
you do get it there is 10 percent chance it is permanent.
In addition jaw fracture. Also remaining root tips if the surgeon
believes removing these will increase risk of the above. Also bone
fracgments may be found down the road and also sharp edges of bone. In
which case you will need to be numbed again and these smoothed out.

LOTS OF FUN
good luck.
