Thank God, my neurosurgeon celebrated it, by doing a wonder job of surgery on me.
Operated on 3 degenerated disks in my neck. On the MRI it showed the spurs on the outside, when he went inside one to replace the cushioning (as I call it) he found a huge spur inside it. I have been in unbelievable pain, especially when it settled on my nerves.
As an aside, the dentists here might want to know, I had a couple of teeth pulled that were somehow connected with these nerves, no cavities, just black at the gum line, at any rate terrible pressure on my entire face jaws and neck. At the time I had them extracted the MRI results weren't in. The pain shot straight to the protruded disks, when my surgeon began to tell me the results, I said, let me guess exactly where they are. I was right on the money.
Feeling much better, but still not home free as the one in front of the other two, is doing the same, plan to get it out next week.
I would like to say at this time, I had the teeth cleaned up under the gum on the other side of my mouth several years ago, I believe this was a much needed procedure.
I went to the chronic pain center and got several epidurals, while waiting to get in to see the surgeon, they didn't help. Ended up in the ER several times, when I could stand the pain no longer.
I would hope that even Joel would not make fun of this post, the pain has been unreal.
It is amazing that one can have seroius surgery one day and be home the next, and with the new technology, no stitches, in my rather long scar.
Also calling Diamond Headache clinic as this may have been the cause of my long history of headaches. They often do MRI's of the head, but not the neck, this info., if they still are not doing it, may help someone.

Someday, Joel, you'll have real pain and then you will owe a lot of apologies.
Of course you are much too despicable to do so. You are utterly stupid.

I have to ask, are you saying you had this major neck surgery on your back the 17th of this month?
17th correct, back surgery, incorrect, it was neck surgery. that was in the post.
Today is the 20th and that you are moving about and home since the surgery?
Yes, I was released the next day on the 18th.
It is all clearly stated in my post, but I must confess, being on the computer much too long yesterday, I certainly over did it, arms and shoulders very sore and aching. Limited time today.

> Jan Advocate147 - 22 Jan 2005 15:01 GMT Jan,
You may want to reconsider pulling another tooth. From the Mayo Clinic Family Health book "Trigeminal Neuralgia" Frequently, a delayed diagnosis results in multiple unnecessary dental procedures in an attempt to correct the pain. (Brief flashes of excrutiating pain in the lips, gums, cheek chin or rarely forehead.) Although the pain may be incpacitating, it is not life threatening. Attacks come and go variably, but periods of remission may grow shorter as you age.". It is understandable that the pain was too difficult to bear, but perhaps now the pain will diminish with a little time. Hope you are better and further procedures are not necessary. Medications such as phenytoin or carbamazepine may conrol pain. or even codeine. Hope this all in the past and the pain is quickly forgotten.

It makes her h-a-p-p-y-!
I can not believe that with ten or more highly skilled and highly ethical dentists, right here, that Jan would not run the theory past us.
Just in case, its nonsense!
100,000 posts by Jan, but she forgot the one important one.

Thank you Gail.
I really doesn't ache, just sensitive, No excrutiating pain. I used Anbesol on it, it really fired up, went right straight up to the nerve perhaps there is a crack a the gum line??
However, with the other two, it was unbearable pressure, from the entire head down to lower neck. This left the minute they were pulled. Jan
