NTI:Lower Universal?

Howdy all!

Quick question: I have a lower second incisor that is sore. It is a bit
extruded, and I'm sure I bite down on that tooth with my NTI all night.

SO: I think I need the lower universal. Before I screw up anything: are
you not supposed to cut it so the lower canines are outside of the
device?. If so ( and I can't see why it wouldn't be) what do y'all use
to cut it; a separating disk... or  what?

Thanks

Lab wheel or acrylic bur.

How much tooth would you have to whack off to level things out?

That would be my first thought,   level off the incisal edges

If by this, you mean one of those fancy Ortho type model trimmers, non,
mon ami, j'en ai pas ca... But I DO have an ordinary model trimmer
(Monarch, I think), that I've learned to use to file down the DE of the
NTI... Of course the first one I tried this on is still in orbit, I
think, but I wouldn't think to try filing the ends of an NTI with it for
that very reason.

Chuck up a good bur in your dental lathe and grind it down to what you want.
Slide to the other side of the lathe and polish.  Done.

I like a "barrel" shaped bur which is about 1/4 inch in diameter.

As I said... yes, if it is stable. If it erupts some more, ...
Thanks

If you wear an NTI every night, I doubt it will super-erupt.

Good, got it, thanks... I just thought there would be a more efficient
and elegant way, like a jewler's saw.. (go ahead and laugh, but why not?
... just gotta watch them fingers...)

About 1/2 mm, but it might not regulate the problem forever: the tooth
is, I think, a passive eruption case, and the central next to it is
partially rotated. I'll take a picture with my SUPER FIGI with the CLOSE
UP and post it.... I sure wouldn't want to see it erupt some more... the
attached gingiva is very weak and recessed. In fact, I'll take a pic
with the NTI in place as well, and squash them together, so y'all can
see how I'm doing them.

This may have to wait till next week, as I'm going to the BIG CITY
(Montreal) tomorrow night after work for a course on posterior
composites given by BIODENT (the same guys who distribute
Biocalyx/Endocal). They are pushing the Cosmodent (Buddy Mopper?) line
of composites. The course is on Friday and Saturday and it's free, and
if the parents' house is not rented out, I can stay there. BIODENT asked
for a 50$ reservation deposit, and that will be refunded upon attendance
(.... wanna bet they try to convince us to convert that into samples
????). Too bad I'm gonna miss the anterior part.

Naturally, it there's anything really interesting, I'll post it sometime
on Sunday, so y'all can have fun shooting it down... and....

... I'll bring y'all back a smoked meat sandwich from Ben's and a
Spanish coffee from St. Denis Street.... ;-)

.... and a 17 year old stripper from le SuperSexe [what!!! who said
that!?!?!?]

Thanks
