hi guys,

any body plz help me. iam giving a seminar on restoration of grossly
decayed teeth-pin,post&core..can u plz send me articles or websites
relating to this .i will be thankful to u.

Here is an outline for a start:

Teeth are vital or non-vital.

VITAL- Threadmate pins were formely used to retain amalgam or
composite. They are rarely used these days as there is evidence they
split tooth structure and may lead to endodontic treatment.

NON-VITAL

CALLED POSTS here, not pins.

Two types, cast post (cerre perdu technique) or pre-fabricated.

Prefab are either metal or non-metal (carbon-fiber or polymer)
examples of each .....

Of the metal, there are parallel-wall posts and tapered (screw-type)
posts.

INSERTION:

Bonded or cemented, and advantages.
