What's a parapost?
Rip - 23 Dec 2004 14:52 GMT
It was recommended at UCLA  for an upper bicuspid. Not much of the
tooth was left.
The private dentist who did the work used a prefabricated dowel post I
believe.
He wanted root canal and crown an adjacent tooth then fuse it to the
bicuspid.

Upper FIRST bicuspids have two spindly roots ....... the SECOND
bicuspids have a single fused root ..(BETTER).....

Why not post an x-ray for a little information?

I sure would if I were you.

BEFORE YOU MAKE A costly mistake ....

ok,
I'll see if I can find a host to post the x ray.
The tooth is 13 and the post and crown have already been put in.

Is there a pic of a parapost somewhere. Does it look just like a dowel
post?

A brand name for a type of post system
Rip - 24 Dec 2004 11:36 GMT
ok,
if I understand correctly a parapost is a brand.
It could be just a regular dowel post or something else.

They make pre-fabricated posts both metal and composite
they also make plastic burn out patterns for dowel core.
