I had a socket graft this past Wed afternoon. I am not in pain but am still
swollen ( yes it's the #5). How long should this last for approx.
Will a nsaid help to bring the inflammation down or should I let nature take
her (his) course.
Thanks, Ken

If it's only inflammatory fluid it should gradually resolve over a few
days. If there has been bleeding into the area it could take a few
weeks to resolve completely. Unless there's a bad taste indicating
drainage, I'd just leave it alone. However, if there is any further
swelling I'd call my dentist promptly.

I'm just a generalist, but I would have told you to ice down the area
(through the cheek, not directly) and take nsaids, yes). However, since
this procedure would be one that was referred to an expert in surgery, I
would also tell you to follow the expert's directions.

Swelling should come in next few days. Hope you are taking antibiotics.
