Dentist Gets Prison Time For Growing Marijuana In Barn
51-Year-Old Also Must Pay $250 Fine

POSTED: 10:29 am EST December 16, 2004

WINCHESTER, Ind. -- A dentist charged after state troopers found more
than 200 marijuana plants growing in his barn was sentenced to five
years in federal prison.

Paul Steven Welch, 51, had been charged in U.S. District Court with
manufacturing a controlled substance and unlawful possession of
unregistered firearms.

Welch (pictured, left) entered a guilty plea on Sept. 14 and was
sentenced Friday, according to Claudia Cummings, a spokeswoman for the
U.S. Attorney's office in Indianapolis. She said Wednesday that Welch
was also fined $250.

After he is released, he will be on probation for four years, she
said.

State police arrested Welch and his son, Alexander Welch, 18, on June
7, after they found the marijuana-growing operation on the Welches'
rural property about 10 miles east of Muncie.

Alexander Welch (pictured, right) pleaded guilty in Randolph Circuit
Court to maintaining a common nuisance, and court records indicated he
was placed on probation, The Star Press of Muncie reported.

Paul Welch, who has a dental practice in Winchester, lived alone on
the farm with his son, police said.

I hope most open-minded people will view Joel's attempts to characterise the
PHS report as
proving that amalgams are safe, as a gross misrepresentation of the facts.
People who rely
on professionals to know their stuff, deserve better.

Hi Judge Joel,

You are representing the most prejudicial attitude I saw in a
long time. Did you get that from being a judge during the witch-
processes in a former life, or what?

Either you are grossly misinformed or you are intentionally
spreading blatant lies.

As a non-professional, I get it already!  You don't have to keep repeating
and repeating.  Plus, I have enjoyed Joel's posts.  He has a good sense of
humor and is also helpful.  I know mercury isn't good for anyone but you go
over the top with this already.  Do you even check the dates of the
abstracts you posts?  If you want to really do some research, it was just
released on the news the other day about mercury in shell fish and the
danger of it.  For the record, I do NOT have any mercury fillings.  You turn
people off with the types of post you continue to do and repeat.  I haven't
been here long and you come across as a troll with what you post.  I am not
trying to get into it with you, just want to bring this to your attentions.

Interestingly, you cannot even have a civil discussion with her no
matter how kind and patient you try to be.  If you have ever disagreed
with anything she has ever said on any NG, she will not participate in
a civil adult discussion.  She will only paste in other people's
remarks (without giving them any credit for saying it) and be very
insulting.

Mercury amalgams are the number one source of mercury in people.

IF* you have an unanswered health problem,,,,,,,,CHECK THE TEETH!

NOT by a mainstream dentist, but an Alt. dentist who KNOWS the dangers of
metalin the mouth and root canals, and follows correct protocol.

I did, it saved my life

.Mercury is Poisonous. There is NO safe form of Mercury in living tissue. The
mercury vapor from dental amalgam alone is a bigger source than all the other
sources together.

U151 identifies mercury as a toxic waste.Mercury is also recovered from
discarded products and wastes such aschlor-alkali wastes, dental amalgams,
fluorescent light tubes, electronicdevices, and others.

The mercury is vaporized in a retort and collected bycondensation. Condensed
mercury is then distilled to remove impurities.*

The Environmental Protection Agency is working to reduce the amount ofmercury
in the environment

With Crohn's, new info becomes available and usually can change the info of

There's 1923 and then there's Dr. Semmelweiss.....

1818-1865

Hungarian physician who decided that doctors in Vienna hospitals were
spreading childbed fever while delivering babies. He started forcing
doctors under his supervision to wash their hands before touching
patients. The doctors objected, however, and stopped washing despite
the decrease in cases. Incidences of the disease skyrocketed, and it
was not until Lister that doctors began routinely using antiseptics.
