Q. When should I start cleaning my baby?s teeth?
A: The sooner the better! Starting at birth, clean your child?s gums
with a soft infant toothbrush and water. Remember that most small
children do not have the dexterity to brush their teeth effectively.
Unless it is advised by your child?s pediatric dentist, do not use
fluoridated toothpaste until age 2-3.

Interesting. Seems like the pediatricians or non-dental people are
saying to start fluoride early. It was my child's pediatrician who
had us start fluoride at 18 months old. I think one year old is
crazy! Then again, at one year old my child only had 3 or 4 teeth.
She still does not have 3 of her 2 year molars and she is almost 3 yrs
old. Isn't that weird?
