Here we are in smd, and surely someone can answer the question about
grapes being dangerous for young children, such as two year olds.

Question:  Why might grapes be dangerous to a 2 yr. old?

Please ...

I was wondering how much grape juice you get from mashing 25-30 grapes.
But I won't wonder about it too much.

At least they don't have to worry about ingesting too much fluoride or
the effects of having maybe having done so --
Glad to know you're okay, carabelli.

The child in question is getting close to 3.  I don't know everything,
but if she has been eating 25 grapes a day for months, I would guess she
and her mother have mastered grape eating and can proceed safely (except
maybe for the fluoride).  Maybe you know more about the situation.

such a good customer too.

YES! Or diced or smashed!  They need to be offered in any form other
than whole.  (But you already know this, Joel.)

Sometimes I think it's amazing that our generation ever survived.  We
didn't know about grapes, peanuts, or MMR vaccines and autism  We did
have a neighbor down the hall whose kid had to go to an ER to remove a
raisin from his nose.  No child was AHDD, they were active.  Fluoride of
course was a Commie plot, even then.

Yep, it was a big political football here in the 60's (and probably
before).  It was a hot-button issue that got politicians elected to, and drummed
out, of office.   Early in my Usenet days I was shocked to discover that it is
still an issue.

Do you mean grapes or fluoride was a big political issue?  Here in
California, we had the "grape-thing" ... very important history.  For
those who aren't familiar with this, you might want to read up on Cesar
Chavez.

Cesar Chavez always quartered his grapes before eating them ........

Yes, but was legally permitted to do so only after years of sometimes
bloody struggle against the cruel and ruthless forces of whole grape
eaters (called the "grape munchers" or often simply the "munchers").

But we have gotten off topic because this has very little to do with
mental health.

Oh yeah???

Who was the guy who insisted on quartering iceberg lettuce before
eating it? I recall we used to boycott that as well as the grapes
during the 1970s too.

Something about you had to eat the lettuce like an apple or not eat it
at all. The problem was the dressing was always running down your
shirt.

.... I never know'd teeth to have mental health problems. Teeth don't
have BRAINS... they have PULPS. I've never seen a 'tooth pulp
psychiatrist'.... Any pulp with adjustment problems gets the W_B
solution: Hammer the sh*t out of it.... and plug it.

SP says,
"off topic because this has very little to do with mental health"
Sometimes it sounds like every newsgroup has mental problems.  Still trying to
figure out what salami has to do with dentistry, except to possibly break a
tooth.
Add this to the mental problem.

What is coffee made in a kosher kitchen called?        He brew.

NOPE, I just tried it. I put an extracted tooth on the table and I
beat it repeatedly with a large salami. All's I got was a dented
salami.

I don't remember any bumper stickers about grapes; at least not here in
South Florida.  Flouride though, that was another matter.

There were politcal movements asking parents to scale back to say 20
grapes per day from the more acceptable 25 grapes ......

I think it was an ecology thing.

Even JFK played the political game, as the J. Am. Dent. Assoc. reported.
He called the "anti´s" right-wing activists. Maybe it was these guys who
shot him?
