Hello,
can some one give some advice to either alleviate my anxiety or put on
right path.

I am 37 and on Thursday had 3 wisdom teeth extracted.  the 4th - lower
left hand side gave the dentist a really hard time. He pulled and
twisted but it never came out.  He said "one more time and if doesn't
come out am referring you too an Oral Surgeon."  Well it didn't come
out.
He referred me to an oral surgeon within his dental group.
Which I can't get in until next saturday. 9 days later.
would like to stay within dental group have a good dental plan with
them but my health is more important.  I am on vicadin for the pain,
because it is a bit painful.
It's 2 days later since the extractions and the right side is healing I
can feel that. Little swelling and minute pain.

the left side feels awful when not medicated.  I can't tell if the top
tooth is healing or not because the bottom tooth pain is taking over
the area. And I am not sure if dentist got out just half the tooth or
not. it certainly looks different than when I went in 2 days ago.  I
think it was impacted. 2 days ago all that I could see was the top of
the tooth at the gum line, now I see is more tooth but not same shape.
And a lot of swelling of gum.

My question is;  Is it ok to wait this long to see the oral surgeon?
And Honestly, this really hasn't been a pleasant experience, will the
surgeon put me under and take it out fast?  I hope so.  The 1st dentist
used novocaine and I was quite aware the whole time him fighting with
my two bottom teeth which was a bit upsetting to me.

Any info is appreciated, Just trying to settle myself down. I am bit
worried and in pain.  Half hour before I can take next vicadin.
thank you
Annette
p.s. anything else I should do as a precaution for the next week.
did started gargling with salt water per the instruction sheet my
dentist gave me.

Annette--

I feel for you. I'm sorry you're going through such pain. I am not a
dentist, but I'm sure one in this group will give you some good advice.
I hope your pain issue gets resolved soon.

That is not right you should not have to wait.

Call your insurance company first ask them to send you to someone on
their list tell them it's an emergency if you encounter any slight
problems then I would go to the OS or any Oral Surgeon and have them
take that tooth out. Pay for it yourself it's only one tooth should not
cost you more than $400.
Then send the reciept to your insurance company tell them you had to go
out of network because it was an Emergency and you could not wait 9
days to be seen. If they refuse to pay call the department of insurance
in your state and file a complaint.  You will see action from your
insurance within 24h.
There is no reason you should be in pain and have to wait.

That's true.
Teatment gets delayed with their presence and patient suffers.
