Hi there,

anybody able to comment on these ......?

What is the recommended interval between RCT and filling.  The 2 months my
dentist recommends seems particularly protracted.

What are the most common complications following RCT and their reasons ?

What are the most likely reasons for failure of an RCT and what is their
time interval ?

Is the use of a dam highly recommended during RCT

Thanks

It can be done five minutes later ....... It was delayed in case the
tooth must be reopened due to emergency.

Abscess does not clear up and apicoectomy or retreatment in indicated.

Tooth can also split in half so be careful biting if a crown is
suggested (until the crown is on).

I try to restore the tooth permanently before the patient goes home.  That
means, minutes after finishing the RCT.  I seal the RCT, switch instruments,
and bond the crown in place.  Waiting any length of time is only needed for
convenience or if there is some extenuating circumstance that you need to
verify proper healing of a fistula, or bony defect, etc.

I agree.

The waiting around is from a previous era.......

Between RCT appointments or after RCT completed and then placing a
crown ? Crown is recommended for most situations.

Varies by individual and particular tooth.
RCT works 95 -98 % of the time if done well.

Vertical root fracture, indeterminate.

>Is the use of a dam highly recommended during RCT

Yes, standard of care.

>Thanks

Welcomed.
