Joel, quit being a cheapskate and pay for real usenet access. Sure
it'll cost you SOME money, but you can make it up with copyright
infringment and the binary groups.

Just my opinion.....

I do pay $9.95 per month with no usenet. I normally use a great NNTP
server in Germany, but Mailgate.Org is cool too. Its a web-based
replay of many newsgroups.

PS- I went FREE for a period of 18 months to see if it was do-able. It
is. I am free with my Wi-Fi set-up, but I am home right now, not
traveling about. I like desktops better than laptops.

I am going back in time to prove a point at THE OTHER WHITE MEAT
dental site.

Jan is complaining that I am lifiting information from them and
delivering it here!

Can you believe her?

I dunno, I didn't take her words to mean that you were lifting info
from there and posting it here. In fact, most of the time I see it
going the other way (Usenet -> private messageboard).

YUP you are right, but other than Jan, I am the only other person

Adeno doesn't post there because technically it's for dental
professionals only. He doesn't want to get kicked out like some other
people have been.

I understand that they don't want a bunch of people asking questions,
but on the other hand, I've found the site very informative and think
that it gives you a bit of insite into how the process works.

If you signed in with some screen name, made up a password and could answer
the "test question" (what does the "O" in MOD stand for?), then you could
post there directly.

Posts in SMD show up in all sorts of different web sources.  You would be
amazed how our banter gets picked up and quoted as medical references.

I'm quite certain that I know the answer to the  question.  I am also
quite certain why I would need to sign in with some (other) screen name.
The question becomes, why would I want to do that if once I posted, my
words could be identified as mine???  ;-)

There was a site years ago, that you could post some "expert pages." I
made some about converting a "Kat Scanner" into a device that you
could use to read barcodes on your CD collection or something.

The "Kat Scanners" were free at Radio Shack who was distributing them
for a magazine that had a novel product.

Now if anyone had any questions, if they clicked a button, it
connected you telephone to telephone.

You "earned" fifty cents or a dollar.

Know how much I made?

Nuttin'. Not one call.
