For the sake of any new readers to this newsgroup. Jan is a retired
day care worker (owner according to her) who makes a lot of noise
about amalgam toxicity. However, she flat out refuses to engage in any
discussion about this issue even when the specific point of discussion
does not contradict her point of view. She cannot communicate beyond
pasting the words of other people to responses, even when the quotes
do not apply to what is being said. She also does not give any credit
to the person from which She takes these quotations. Her behavior is
very similar to a software program designed to post specific remarks
to key words. Please be cautious if you choose to follow any advice
presented by her.

Recognize that her views do Not reflect those of modern dentistry. Her
views minor those of dishonest people who survive by preying on the
innocent.

I wonder how hard it would be to write a bot to emulate this posting
behavior. It would be an excuse to buy some books on AI programming,
and more computer books is never a bad thing.

No way. She has many different post types.

I figure the first step would be to make a list of the types of posts
she makes. So far, the primary types I can tell are the snip and
insult, and the big paste of doom. As far as I can tell, there is no
difference in the contents of the post being replied to that
determines which type of reply is made. A probablity function would
have to be made to determine which type of reply is generated.

The second step would be to record the various pastes that may be
used. Once the intial data load is done (from historical postings)
there wouldn't be a very high need to update the list. Then some
method of determining the proper pastes would have to be written.

Maybe if I'm quite bored over the weekend I'll go about finding all
the other functionality it would require.

That reminds me.  I never got back to that question about the Folgers
singles.  The question concerned the use of the word "Sit".  I'll put up
a post about it tomorrow.  Who knows... maybe J** will know the "answer"
to the question.

"Only when the questions become more important than the answers will the
solutions emerge."

There is only one "stupid" question:  the one you don't ask.

I agree. I would   suggest an appropriate subject title insuring that
lurkers do not miss it. I also suggest including the very words of Jan
Drew that prove that not only did she not have mercury poisoning but
also admitted that she felt better than she had in two years due to
relief and went from bed ridden to line dancing when her mercury level
was likely the highest in her life.

Don't let JD manipulate you by trying to distract attention away from
her own lies. Continue to post her words which impeach her
credibility. If all of you do this consistently and don't get sucked
into her manipulation you will have the best chance of having Jan Drew
leave this group in peace. At the very least (if she decides to stay)
you will warn scientifically naive individuals that Jan Drew's
opinions are lies and not to be trusted.

Aloha,

Rich

TW

Not true. Jan believes in ANYTHING if it happens to support her
preconceived ideas (PI). When science supports her PI then she is a
believer. When science contradicts her PI then she calls it evil
organized medicine/dentistry.

While it is certainly true that some of Jan's PIsa are due to magical
thinking, it is not true that they all are. Some are due to faulty
logic, anger at conventional medicine for not indulging her somatic
hypervigilance, etc. I prefer the generic term PI (which has a nice
ring to it) which would include all the above.
