RCT on 5 and fuse it to 4 because 4 is broken?

Would this make sense?

Crown goes on 4 because it's cracked; about a 1/3 of it is left mostly
on buccal.

5 is vital and not decayed, has a filling, somewhat discolored.

Does it make sense to do RCT on 5 and fuse it to 4, because 4 will be
weak otherwise.

If it makes sense to fuse, does it make sense to fuse without RCT.

no thoughts on this?

I kinda don't like the idea of messing with 5, RCT, just to make 4
stronger; at the same time I don't want the crown to break if it's
weak. Any other solutions?

Implant.

I missed these 2 responses somehow. Anything else apart from implants?
The tooth now has a crown with a dowel post.

Is the fusing and RCT on adjacent tooth a typical procedure? I've
never run across it in my limited readings.

At UCLA dental school, a crown with parapost was suggested. No mention
of fusing.

This would be my personal & biased opinion.

If you have  zero  parafunction at night (while sleeping), then it
does not matter that much if the end tooth, has a root canal treatment
or not. Posts will not matter much either. You will just need enough
tooth structure to anchor the crown to.   However, people with missing
back teeth and root canal treatments usually either have parafunction
now, or in the past.  Heavy night - time clenching with isometric
grinding will break anything.

You need to rule out parafuntion first.  Most people who do this
while sleeping never are aware of it
