It's possible to set a good example for others by taking responsibility
for our individual words and actions. The "group" will take care of itself.
I think you get it.

The directions of my posts might have been different this morning except
that my news server was acting up/is acting up and I wasn't aware of
this until now. And our phone service at home is out for the second
time in four days... with no repair planned until late Thursday.
So I apologize if my posts seem out of sync.

Thank God, we are a group of individuals.
> What is the significance of being "a group"?
In the context of Usenet, not a helluva lot.
> What do we, as a group, have to gain or lose by what takes place in smd?
Depends on what "the group" means to me. Myself, (I like to think) I
have a life!
> What do we, as individuals, have to gain or lose by what takes place in
smd?
Ditto above.
> Is smd bound to forever be disorganized?
I hope so!
> Is organization in the interest or disinterest of a Usenet newsgroup?
It is rarely good. The best that you can hope for is a benevolent
dictatorship, a very efficient system that unfortunately seldom survives a
change in leadership.

No.
