I take half a glass and toss in a bunch of salt, say a teaspoon ......
Warm is better so it will dissolve ....
This is an old joke ..... of mine .......
I was at a party and someone, finding out I am a dentist asked me the
same question. I answered as above.
A couple of weeks later, I learned the young lady went to her dentist
who told her I don't know what I am talking about.
STEP ONE:
Measure out 260 cc. of water, preferably bottled water.
Bring to precisely 180 degrees Fahrenheit and hold there for seventeen
minutes and forty seconds .....
Etc.
Bill for today's services ......... $50.00
YEAH!

You don't recommend warm salt water rinse, ever?
warm distilled water and table salt. I've got some 5mm pockets and want to
keep 'em clean.

EXACTLY
Quick and dirty means no weighing etc.
In dental school, we weighed stone and measured water before mixing.
Few dentists or dental assistants do that in practice.

That's what I'm talking about!
