Sure. I would think a second opinion is logical. Over the
internet it isn't possible to 'know' what your exact situation
is, but it doesn't *sound like* your symptoms were severe.
However, if the filling is quite wide and quite deep, another
'insult' (new filling, crown, etc.) may still push the nerve
into irreversable pulpitis. You can't go with a temporary
filling forever so you have to do something.
Sometimes it's a little bit of a crapshoot.

Thanks. Out here, I often refer to them as 'sleeping dogs'. It
won't take much to 'wake them'. 'Course with a dog, it *might*
wake up and be friendly. Not usually the case with a tooth.
