Howdy again and thanks for the info. I know that DrS uses it and
Adenosine must have had it in his mouth, if Chad is his dentist. I'd
like to know if this thing can be used comfortably in a non anesthetized
situation. Any other observations appreciated.

Also: Are the inserts sterilizable in any way or are they throw-away
only?

Thanks

I've had it in my mouth, but the commute to PA from WA was a killer,
so I had to switch dentists. :P

I know he uses it because he sings its fame on another board I
frequent.

This I don't get. I've never had a situation in which the entire mouth
was numb for dental work. I don't see why you'd not be able to use it
without anesthetic, but if you turned on the high speed handpiece
without giving me a shot, I'd give you a rather nasty look.

It's LOUD. When I had it in my mouth, I could barely hear anything
over the noise of the suction. Other than that, I would MUCH rather
have the Isolite in my mouth than a rubber dam. I like the bite block
it has, it helps me out greatly. The only thing I don't like is that
my tongue seems more cramped for space with it in, but for all I know
I could have Jabba the Hut masquerading as my tongue.

Throw away only. This could be a problem if the person whose mouth you
tried to put it into couldn't handle it, because then you are out the
cost of the mouthpiece

Thanks, Ad.... that is a good synopsis from the viewpoint of a
(literally) end-user.

The part which goes in the patient mouth is thrown away after use. It
is $2 USD!

Use it any time you want. It has an orange filter you can activate on
the light to prevent polymerization.
