Perio and Prosthodontist work
Added: October 21, 2004 - 4:28 PM
Provide Cost Estimate: Yes
X-rays Available: Yes

I have been in the process of having my entire mouth done, the problem
I am having now is that my perio had said he would start at the bottom
and the prothodontist he refered me to started with the top. I told him
that the periodontist was going to start the bottom first and he said
that he had spoken to the periodontist and had agreed to start at the
top. Today I had an apoinment with the perio and I discovered that they
had never comunicated like I had believed. The prothodondist put a
temporary fixed bridge thru all of my top teeth except for the last 2
molars. Now the perio wants to consult with the prothodontist 2 weeks
from now to see what can be done. This has been going on since july. I
do not like what is going on because I was made to believe that they
would be communicating and they were not. I am also missing 3 molars on
the bottom.I am about to give up and go to New York City and have the
work done there with Dr. Stephen Chu who comes well recomended. I live
in San Juan, P.R. but if I have to fly there to have my smile back it
will be well worth it. The perio intends to do some bone graft and
possibly two extractions. Should I wait and see what happens or should
I seek help in N.Y.C.

It's not good if the prosth is doing his thing and perio doing his
without communicating and keeping you out of the loop.
Generally the restorative dentist (ie the prosth) is in charge of
treatment  but if this guy doesn't talk, you should find a different
team. Whether you have to go all the way to NY ??????????
