Cavitation surgery? !?

In the last couple of years I've had two pts tell me a dentist in
another state diagnosed them with bone "cavitation lesions" and wanted
them to fly out for "cavitation surgery". I couldn't find anything
that resembled a lesion on pan or PA so I cautioned against it. What
is this and is it legit??
