Just wondering if this is normal, or something that will go away.. I
had a filling done on a tooth, the tooth is second from the back on
the lower right of my mouth. The side of the tooth had sort of
dissapeared (as in broken to bits over time due to decay i believe)
it was the side closest to the last tooth. So anyway the dentist
filled all that up but now i just cant eat on that side of my mouth.
Its not exactly pain as in like someone stabbing me there with a
needle but just that extremely horrible feeling you get from the
nerves. Its fine any other time and not sensative to hot or cold,
but the moment i put any pressure on just the filling area its an
unbearable feeling. The filling was only 24 hours ago so is this
normal and possibly going to go away ? its making eating near
impossible except for very soft foods.
Thanks for any advice

Yes it is possible, but it is also possible the nerve will die and
then require root canal therapy.
The sign of pulpal (nerve) death is an extremely painful toothache ..
followed by ... NOTHING!
Yup, when you think the pain is gone, that spells future trouble.

No way to be certain from a monitor, but it sounds like either the tooth was
restored "high", or the soft tissues inside the tooth are dying. Contact
your dentist and have it evaluated soon.

_I_ have.... I've always understood a Phoenix abcess to be _ideopathic_
in origin. IOW, ther is no previous caries or demonstrable trauma... The
tooth just dies mysteriously and necessitates RCT. Biopsies from the
abcess are typically sterile.
Just my recollection
