Would you reccomend amalgam, or composite for the new lens?
You got to treat em early. I'd clear out the old occular
decay with a #3 burr and high speed with plenty of rinse
water. Pack the area with cotton, and get it nice and dry.
Have your assistant mix up some color matched composite, and
pack it in tightly. No eating for an hour after the
procedure.

A Cataract is a clouding that develops in the crystalline
lens of the
eye or in its envelop, varying in degree from slight to
complete
opacity and obstructing the passage of light. Early in the
delopment
of age related cataract the power of the lens may be
increased,
causing near sightedness (myopia), and the gradual yellowing
and
opacification of the lens may reduce the perception of blue
colors
Cataracts typically progress slowly to cause vision loss and
are
potentially blinding if untreated.
