I went to "Dental Plans.Com" & it lists many dental insurance companies. Has
anyone made a study of which dental plans are preferable?

IMO, the short answer is "none". First, educate yourself on the difference
between "dental insurance" and a "dental plan" before you even think of
parting with the first dollar.
Hint: Most dental "plans" pay no money to the dentist, so the full cost for
all of your treatment ultimately comes directly out of your own pocket.
