What are the names of the muscles and nerves associated with TMJ and
maxillofacial region would experience the most strain when you have to
open your mouth at its widest for a prolonged time?

I know the obvious ones, mainly just because these are all I know;
lateral or external pterygoid and medial or internal pterygoid.  But
can someone please name the other muscles in that region which would
experience the most strain when you have to have your mouth wide open
for a while?  TIA.

    Depends.  If you open your mouth quickly you may cause reflex spasm of
the elevators of the mandible.  If you are forcibly opened for a long
period (let's say cranked open with a mouth prop) you can get spasm of
the depressors of the mandible too.
    Is this homework, or do you have a personal reason for asking?
