I had a root canal and gold crown on lower left molar
second from back

Damn thing still hurts when pressure applied!!

What are my options now?

Dentist just seems to shrug his shoulders and doesn't
care..... and advising either to pull it or expensive
bridge!!

Id like to keep the root if possible...but what can be
done?

RCT teeth often hurt to biting pressure for a few days to weeks.

Get it looked at by an endodontist.

Quite likely a fractured root.  Possible that re-doing the RCT would help if
it is not cracked.
