Teeth Meet Only On One Side Of Mouth

I may need to lose two of my teeth on one size of the mouth ,this would
result in the remaining top side teeth having  no corresponding bottom
teeth.

My side teeth on the other side have two top and bottom that meet up OK.

Would a mouth tend to ache or drop to one side (e.g.: when eating) if teeth
only met on one side of the face ?

My own dentist wants me to consider partial dentures but I want to avoid
this for as long as possible. An answer to my question would help  as to
whether I have made the right choice.
Thanks,

Marion

The answer to these questions will necessarily depend on the location
and condition of the remaining teeth.  It seems to me that you will be
getting along on very little biting surface.  No one can predict how you
will tolerate this, but I consider it likely that without replacement
the remaining teeth will have a greater tendency to drift and extrude.
OTOH, the teeth must be in a position and strong enough to support a
good-functioning set of partial dentures.  Your dentist is in the best
position to know this.
