Matter of fact there is a delicacy made of just that. I was watching Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmer, and it seems there is a dish in the south of France that is made up of garlic bread, whiting soaked in butter sauce overnight and then baked, garnished with cloves and onion bits, and served with red wine. The french are a different people but they certainly know how to eat. Well I'll tell you....I've got type 2 diabetes and controlled high blood pressure. I've combined Andrews advice with the south beach diet and lowered my cholesterol intake and slowly losing weight. Now I'm sure that there are others that are concerned about Andrews advice, but I've checked it out with my doctor and it is working well for me. My blood sugar remains under 79, my last a1c was down from 6.2 to 5.1, and overall my doctor is finally a happy camper and I may actually get to live long enough to reach retirement age ! Well lets put it this way...the bible has seen more edits than a XXX movie on the european circuit. The book of Mark is proof of that, and the book of Luke was written by a guy that did not know Christ firsthand, nor does it read like he knew the apostles well either. Now I'd have to argue with the guy that says that all scripture is profitable for teaching and reproof, because the gnostics also wrote scriptures, and you don't see Christians using gnostic texts for teaching and reproof, it isn't gonna happen ! What has happened is that the service that the early church fathers performed in making scripture available to the unlearned masses that previously couldn't read has been twisted to another purpose by those high in organised religious heirarchy, and that is to wrest control of the masses away from Christ and put it square into the greedy hands of of religionists. And there isn't an atheist or true follwer of Christ that hasn't witnessed this happening in at least one congregation. I myself stopped attending church when I witnessed the pastor send a homeless man away that wanted to worship with others on a sunday morning. Now I know it's wrong to hate someone when you're a christian, but I hate that man for what he did and I'll never let the scum forget it for the slightest moment until he undoes the harm he caused. I think that we know that there is the Gospel according to Matthew; the Gospel according to Luke; the Gospel according to Mark and the Gospel according to John. But I would like to add the Gospel according to a turtle shell. How so. Well, listen up. Can you imagine a turtle without a shell? What do you think would happen if the turtle decided to meet an enemy in his own strength - like, without a shell. Well, I suppose it would be "goodbye Mr. turtle". God has provided a protection for the turtles of the world. You know, God has also provided that for you and me. He has provided some protection. I find in Ephesians 6:10-18 words, like, "Be strong in the Lord and His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes, or his entrapments or his devices." That is something that we always need to remember. Satan, boys and girls, is going to tempt you to do things and if you do not use the protection of the armor that God has given you, you might really feel the force against you and be hurt. It is so true that none of us would have much power against Satan in our own strength. That is where Jesus comes in with his available strength for any and all who call upon him. You might be tempted to do wrong, to steel or lie or be disobedient to your parents. Satan will try to get to you, but if you put your armor on you will be safe in Christ Jesus. The Bible tells us that Satan throws his fiery darts at us. So when one comes, what do we do? Well, we put up the shield of faith and stop the dart. You know, the turtle would never try to live without a shell and if tried, certainly would not get very far. So we can not hope to survive without the protection that God gives us with the armor of the Lord.
