Hi:
I'm a dentist in Arlington/ Mansfield Texas. I see many patients
who have severe periodontal condition with poor cardic health. I was
suprised by patient was never told a bad oral health can lead to poor
general health. I just want to know what the MD's and general public
feel about the relation between perio and cardic health. Thanks for
your input...........

There is a known association.

Systemic inflammation driven by cytokines from visceral adipose tissue
(VAT) lead to poor general health which would include both bad
cardiovascular and bad oral health.

As folks lose the bad "inside" fat (VAT), they become healthier
(hungrier) with less systemic inflammation.  This does also mean
improved perio health.

It is only when we are hungry (stomachs laughing and singing) that our
bodies get rid of the VAT.

Indeed, when we eat until we are full (stomachs stretched killing the
hunger) we have overeaten and will start accumulating VAT.

You are welcome.

Redirecting all thanks and praises to GOD so that we will both be that
much more blessed (hungrier).

Be hungry... be healthy... be hungrier... be blessed:
