Holter monitor results

Hi all,

First off, some history: Age 27, overweight, mostly sedentary. I was
diagnosed with SVT when I was in highschool though I'm unsure whether it
was ever recorded or the diagnosis was based solely on symptoms. Have
experienced intermittent tachycardia since then, most recently a bout of
190 bpm (according to Polar monitor) for several minutes after climbing
a small set of stairs at home. Went to medical centre and by then the
ECG was sinus rhythm around 120 bpm.

My Doctor ordered a 24hr Holter monitor and I got the results today.
Summary is that everything's OK:

"The average heart rate was 92 bpm with a maximum of 175 bpm and a
minimum of 42 bpm. The maximum heart rate appeared to be sinus rhythm.
There was no ventricular ectopy. There was infrequent supraventricular
ectopy. There were no pauses. The patient described no symptoms."

However, looking at the "arrhythmia strips" in the report, I'm a little
confused. There is 1 pause of 1.9 secs (contradicts the summary?),
several instances of bradycardia (while sleeping) and also ST
Depression. Maybe it's "normal" but I thought ST depression was a bad thing?

ST DEPRESSION start 08:55:57 Duration 6:30 mins Index 10.40 mm.mins
-2.48mm CH3 (+0mm CH1 +0.56mm CH2) strip rate 158 bpm

ST DEPRESSION start 18:37:27 Duration 34:00 mins Index 47.94 mm.mins
-2.12mm CH3 (+0.40mm CH1 +1.04mm CH2) strip rate 166 bpm (this one
coincides with my daily walk)

ST DEPRESSION start 13:04:57 Duration 6:30 mins Index 9.32 mm.mins
-2.08mm CH3 (+0.32mm CH1 +1.36mm CH2) strip rate 138 bpm

And several other listings ranging from -1.88mm to -1.60mm

MAXIMUM HEART RATE = 175 (ST level +0.84 +2.76 -1.60 mm CH1,2,3
MINIMUM HEART RATE = 42 (ST level +0.52 +0.84 -0.24 mm CH1,2,3)
MAXIMUM ST LEVEL +3.96mm CH2 (Heart rate = 156)
MINIMUM ST LEVEL -2.47mm CH3 (Heart rate = 158)

I'm guessing since none of this is mentioned in the summary that it's
nothing to worry about, but I just wanted to check if anyone else thinks
otherwise :-) Any comments would be appreciated.

Thx

Would suggest you have your doctor review the strips to determine if
indeed the report is accurate or if confounded by artifacts.

May GOD bless you.

Thanks for the reply. Would a GP be able to tell me this or do I need to
talk to the doctor who wrote the report? My referring doctor seems to
have just looked at the report summary.

Assuming the arrhythmia events aren't artifacts, what would this indicate?

You are welcome.

Redirecting all thanks, praises, and glory to GOD so that we both will
be blessed.

The doctor who wrote the report.

That would be usual.

Because you did not have symptoms, very little indication of anything
meaningful.

May GOD bless you.
