A specifically designed combination of supplements was found to increase HDL
and to decrease CRP and triglyserides in a pilot study.

"The HDL Booster dietary supplement used in the study (two capsules
twice daily) consisted of: vitamins C, E, B6, B12, niacin (low dose,
40 mg/day), and folic acid; minerals magnesium and selenium; and
supplements coenzyme Q10, policosanol, L-carnitine, L-arginine,
N-acetylcysteine, alpha lipoic acid, tocotrienols, soy isoflavones,
taurine, and the herbal extracts of hawthorn (Crategus oxyacantha)
berry, garlic (Allium sativum), grape (Vitis vinifera) seed extract,
and grape (Vitis vinifera) skin extract."

That's a lot of supplements. You don't usually see that many. It fit
in 4 capsules, so it couldn't have been very high doses.

basicly, nothing is new here, only putting it into  one capsule for
convenience.
beni.

Agreed. But putting it in one capsule might make a supplement an alternative
to prescribed drugs.

Yeah, and taking a whole mess of stuff to get less benefit than that
conferred by just pantethine alone.

Or by reducing carbs. The supplement increased HDL only by 20%. In
many people carb reduction increases HDL more, and reduces
triglycerides. My HDL went up 100%, when I eliminated potatoes and
most grain products from my diet. A sensible moderate carb
Mediterranean style diet with enough vegetables, fatty fish and
omega-3s, and extra virgin olive oil would reduce also inflammatory
biomarkers. One could throw in some pomegranate juice or pomegranate
extract capsules, if pomegranates are not available for diet.
