Hi,
Can anyone tell me how I can gain weight? I have Polymyalgia and I am
having a terrible time trying to get some weight back on my bones. My skin
so thin all I have to do is bump it and I pull the skin right off. I'm on
prednisone and also Coumadin...I have it checked every week but the
prednisone keeps the blood thinning jumping around.IT was fine yesterday,
but I bumped my leg on the retaining wall and I peeled the skin right off
and bleed, bleed, and bleed..

Any suggestion for food that is healthy, and yet put weight on? Thanks a
lot...Nel

Food that tastes good is healthy:

It is the amount of food that matters for putting weight on.

Simply weigh your meals and make sure you eat about 2 lbs per day and
you will regain back to your optimal weight.

You are welcome.

All thanks and praises belong to GOD whom I love with all my being.

May GOD help you with your needs, dear neighbor Nel whom I love

There are things you can eat that will help you gain more weight.
Milkshakes, ice cream, whole milk (instead of low-fat), regular soda
(instead of diet),  put butter on your veggies. There are others.

I would ask your rheumatologist for a consult with a nutritionist.

Thanks guys,
I do eat and eat and eat just to hold the weight I have. I don't think I
should eat just anything. I just read sugar was bad for Polymyalgia, also
caffeine and nicotine. Sugar is the only one thing I do. I don't do the
others. I'll cut back on the sugar and, hope I don't loss weight.

And I think you are right Jeff, I should see nutritionist. I've always eaten
so well that it's hard for me to go to all the dairy products. I am drinking
Ensure with bananas and milk in it.
If it wasn't for my Afib. I would try some of the herb suggestions too.
Some things I'll have to ask my cardiologist about. One article mentioned
Vit. A-B6- C and I don't know what they mean by Cholesterol.
Thanks so much again, if you think of anything else let me know.....Nel

Whatever foods increase your healthy appetite should be fine.
