My father was just diagnosed as having an 80% blockage in one of his
carotid arteries.  We are in rural PA and I was wondering where would
be the best place to have his surgery done.

Thanks

Westchester Medical Center in NY has an excellent success rate.  If you
are in the Poconos area, it's 90 minutes by car.

Lehigh Valley Hospital (Allentown) and Hamot Medical Center in Erie both are
ranked by US News and World Report as excellent heart surgery hospitals.

They didn't rank carotid artery surgery, but this is a common condition in
people with heart disease. I would think both of these hospitals would be
able to provide excellent care for carotid artery blockage.

In addition, Giesenger Hospital in Danville and Hershey Medical Center both
have excellent reputations. I do know people who have had care at all of
these hospitals, except Hamot, and they got excellent care (I would expect
the same at Hamot).

Outside of PA, the Cleveland Clinic, Johns Hopkins and Colmubia Presbyterian
in NYC are excellent. And don't forget Penn, Temple, Jefferson and other
hospitals in Philly.

This does not mean that their vascular surgeons have good outcomes for
carotid endarterectomies.

May GOD continue to keep your heart beating, dear Jeff whom I love
unconditionally.

Prayerfully in Christ's amazing love,

As for knowing who are the very elect, these you will know by the
unconditional love they have for everyone including their enemies
(Matthew 5:44-45, 1 Corinthians 13:3, James 2:14-17).
