The Lord, pt. II - 22 Aug 2006 05:35 GMT
"The beauty of religious mania is that it has the power to explain
everything. Once God (or Satan) is accepted as the first cause of
everything which happens in the mortal world, nothing is left to
chance...logic can be happily tossed out the window."

It remains Earthquack's choice not to win the lottery and use the money
to help all those poor lost souls he says he loves.

"Chance is not logic.

There is no such thing as chance (Proverbs 16:33).

There is such a thing as logic.

The undiscerning use logic to grope around looking for the truth that
the discerning see.

The discerning are masters of logic.

It is clear that Stephen King is among the undiscerning.

If he were to become discerning he would no longer fear the things of
this world.

He would no longer be able to write horror fiction."

The truth.

Truth is simple.

Truth is absolute.

Truth is invincible.

If you have a dictionary that tells you that "truth" is either

In truth, on-line Merriam Webster definitions for chance do not
overlaps its definitions for logic.

Would you care to translate that into Terran?  I have utterly

I'm assuming that this is not an open-ended sort of escape

that's just when He got around to it?"

When you stop doubting and simply believe, HE will heal your ears of
the tinnitus.

Most assuredly without doubt, HE will do this for you because I have
asked in prayer in Christ Jesus' name.

Ah, but that's not the way the deal works.  "Verily, verily, I say
unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will
give it you."  Something you most certainly believe, given the
times you've said something like:

At any moment, I could leave my walk with Christ and ask our
heavenly Father to annihilate you in Jesus' name and it would be
done, so be thankful that it remains my choice to stick with the

Obviously you're not assuming the person would have to believe
in God for Him to "annihilate" that person at your request.

So then, having gotten that excuse out of the way: why do my ears still
ring?

That is HIS promise.  That has also been my experience.

Yes.  I have prayed this on your behalf, in the holy name of GOD's one
and only begotten Son, LORD Jesus Christ, Who chose to suffer terribly
and die horribly on the cross in order to save us from our deadly sins.
All glory to HIM for rising up on that fantastic third day.  Laus Deo

At my age, you may have a decade or less of time to play with here.
How long do you estimate He will take to get around to it?  If I'm
still alive a decade hence, and my ears still ring, will this
indicate a huge backlog confronting Him?

Or merely evidence that you were wrong all along?

> > I await your next evasion with great interest.
>

Oh, quite the contrary: such a demonstration would go a long way
towards convincing me that there actually Someone who is interested
in my soul, and capable of saving it.  And that this Someone keeps
His word.

Jesus Himself said to the centurion that unless people had signs
and wonders, they would not believe -- and promptly healed the
man's son, presumably for that reason, among others.

> For this reason, the sooner you place your faith in LORD Jesus Christ,
> Who will save your soul, the sooner you will be healed of your
> tinnitus.

Doesn't it bother you to hedge Jesus' promise about with evasions
and criteria that He did not place on it Himself?

Jesus did NOT say "Anything you ask in my name will be granted --
just so long as it doesn't involve someone who doesn't believe
in me".  He said -- or so I presume you believe -- what the
Bible claims He said.  I fail to understand why you feel
the need to improve his teachings.

And -- let's see if you'll avoid dealing with this point yet
once again -- and your comments to atheists that it's a good thing
that you don't ask God, in Jesus' name, to "anihilate" them shows
that even you don't believe that belief on the part of
the prayee is necessary.

Do you think such blatant backing and filling will somehow bring
more souls to Jesus?

What you have written is a far cry from stating that your being healed

GOD will chose when to heal someone. The timing is entirely HIS.

Jesus did not promise an **immediate** fulfilment of prayers made in
HIS name.

See above.

Your name is either going to be in the Lamb's book of life or not when
HIS day of judgment comes.

It remains my wish for GOD to heal you of your tinnitus and because of
my prayer on your behalf for this in Jesus' name, it will happen.  When
exactly is entirely up to GOD.

Because your soul is infinitely more important than being without
tinnitus, the threat to your soul necessarily takes precedence over
healing your tinnitus.

May GOD continue to heal your heart, dear neighbor Cary whom I love

Furthermore, once you are in the Word, it will not matter so much to
you whether your tinnitus is healed immediately or not for you will
have learned that there are more important things than life on this
earth.

As for knowing who are the very elect, these you will know by the
unconditional love they have for everyone including their enemies
(Matthew 5:44-45, 1 Corinthians 13:3, James 2:14-17).

How?

When?

Why YOU?

Well, I do believe they've got that kink worked out: at Pentecost (we are
told), each member of the crowd heard the apostles in his own tongue.
Sort of like the UN, but without those annoying earpieces.

Hate those earpieces. And they don't even plug into an iPod.

'Truth' is something that Christians and most other religionists have been vainly  struggling to find for thousands of years.

The truth is 'it is time they gave up'

Whoosh! Right over his head, Bob. I wonder if he has any concept of

You're not at all sorry. Such dishonest platitudes further diminish
your reputation.

And I suspect it is your dishonesty, pride and arrogant proselytising
which bother people so terribly, rather than your insincere thanks and
hollow praise.

As for forgiving your iniquities, do you repent of them? Or does your
pride and arrogance prevent you from such humility and grace?

The damage is everywhere. It's called being born-again, it is actually
a form of death.

Consider yourself completely stripped of all credibility. It was your

It remains my choice to refrain from forming an opinion about others
per the kind and helpful suggestion of LORD Jesus Christ (Matthew
7:1-2).

Sorry this discussion bothers you so terribly.  Please forgive all my
iniquities.
