It all stems from pre-supposition, of course. I liken our 'differences' with the theists to the effect one sees when looking at some drawn images. Some famous examples of this is the drawing of a young woman who suddenly appears to be an *old* woman if you stare at the picture long enough. Now I could envision a fight breaking out between those who claim the figure in the picture is a *young* woman and those who insist she's *old*. How do you prove either?
I said 'liken'. There is, of course, quite a difference between the claims of the theists and we atheists because there is nothing even on the 'canvas' for them to even point to in this one. Science has the 'picture' while the theists have a blank sheet of paper.

I'm afraid I don't understand, but you're the heart surgeon so you can explain it, I'm sure. When you can feel your heart, isn't that a sign that something's wrong? I mean, I can feel my pulse, but even concentrating, I can't isolate the nerves in my heart.

What's the point of praying for us then? You could just sit at home and pray about the various furniture in your room. There's no need to sit on Usenet gathering up names of people to pray for.
> May GOD continue to heal your heart, dear neighbor Chris whom I love. I don't know that there's anything wrong with my heart. I had a checkup in June and they did a quick once over before I had surgery last Tuesday, and nobody's mentioned anything.
