I need specifics, not generalities, please.

I am seeing my GP in a week and need to get the jargon down to force
the issue.  My medical history is type II diabedies, controlled with
meds and diet, 5 abdominal ops (2 cancer), general good health.  No
treatments for heart other than what I am talking about.  Echos show a
slightly enlarged heart, and stress test (4!) show nothing
"interesting."

Over the past 8 years, 3 separate times I have found myself with
"someone sitting on my chest", and unable to feel my pulse.  Getting to
the hospital, the PB was very low, and rate was over 150.  The first
two times, they pushed something and the symptoms went away.  Blood
tests negative for heart damage, no stroke or attack. I went to the
recommended Cardiac specialist who did echos, stresses, and came up
with .....nothing....

Last winter, it happened again, and the ER was more proactive, they
pushed a med that "stops and restarts your heart."  The "cure" was
immediate, though very uncomfortable.  The ER doc warned me that I
should not depend on a "plumber" but find a specialist who "only does
electricals."  I reported that back to my GP who sent me to a plumber
who "discovered" that I had a slightly enlarged heart for $3000. (duh!)
Final insult:  The GP did not know the med, or the procedure, and will
not call the ER and get the records, and of course, I did not get the
chart, after all, I am the patient.  (My dogs get better Doc
coordination!!!!! write me e-mail,and I will give examples, but please
not here!)

Here are the questions:
1. technical name for the condition I get
2. technical name for the med pushed (most likely one)
3. technical name for types of tests needed
4. technical name for the Cardiac Sub-speciality
5. how to find such a person, what do I ask?
6. URLs for any/all of the above

Obviously, I am looking to force a referral, as the GP does not even
know how I was "brought back" and keeps on sending me to "plumbers."

I have 4 days.

thanks!

And so the records rightfully belong to you and legally a copy should
be provided upon your asking for it.

> Here are the questions:
> 1. technical name for the condition I get

Suspect it was supraventricular tachycardia (aka SVT).

> 2. technical name for the med pushed (most likely one)

Suspect it was adenosine (aka AdenoCard).

> 3. technical name for types of tests needed

Electrophysiological study (aka EPS).

> 4. technical name for the Cardiac Sub-speciality

Electrophysiology.

> 5. how to find such a person, what do I ask?

Ask to be referred to an electrophysiologist.

SVT is not a lethal condition in a structurally normal heart.

> thanks!

You are welcome.

All thanks and praises belong to the LORD, Whom I love with all my
heart, soul, mind, and strength.

May GOD heal your heart, dear neighbor.

Have you tried calling the hospital where the ER is and asking for a
copy of your medical records?  They should provide them, perhaps for a
copying fee.  Maybe you can go to the Medical Records department and
get them on the spot?

Those records should address the first questions you raise.

to complete the circle.
1. got my ER room records (a no brainer, and never an issue)
2. fired my physician for never checking it out for 9 months
3. got an appointment with the head of electrophysiology at a local
nationally rated hospical.

thanks to all!

As for knowing who are the very elect, these you will know by the
unconditional love they have for everyone including their enemies
(Matthew 5:44-45, 1 Corinthians 13:3, James 2:14-17).
