One quick question. Why is it that when I experinced angina last year
whenever I took pepcid ac the angina would go away?

because it wasn't angina??

"heartburn" is also mistaken for angina...but angina is NOT relieved by
taking an antacid

Possibly by increasing vagal tone, which in turn slows down the heart
rate.

Remains possible.

Fyi, Javier's angina resolved after angioplasty.

GERD does not resolve with angioplasty.

I didn't know that...changes the picture

> GERD does not resolve with angioplasty.

not unless the GERD was stress induced (which it often is)...having the
angioplasty reduced his worries about his heart...thus..less stress...less
GERD

but I acknowledge that your theory could be correct...have just never heard
of such

my hubby..post MI,,angioplasty and stents,,then CABG...still has
GERD...never had angina..

Pepsid relieves his heartburn....but it returns...no angina,,no chest pain..

etc etc

It was definitely angina, not heart burn. Whenever I performed any
activity that forced my heart to pump more and require more oxygen the
angina would kick in. Now here's the funny part, Angioplasty, four
stents and one year later and the heart burn has never returned.  At
that point I didn't know I had any blockages and I was not stressed
out at all so heart burn caused by stress was a non-issue. As a matter
of fact, I was at the most stress free point in my life.

I'm an odd case, my cardiologist was amazed that I had four major
blockages and all I felt was a little angina.

Around a quarter of folks are just like you, so I would not write that
you are an odd case.

P.S. For those who believe I have been untruthful when writing that
there has been no **attempt** by me to exorcise Philip's demon:

(1) It was my choice to pray in Jesus' name on Philip's behalf
concerning the demon.

(2) GOD's immediate answer to (1) was to use me as HIS  instrument to
command that the demon depart from Philip.

(3) Because the demon has departed, this event was not an **attempt**
but an actual exorcism not by me but by LORD GOD Almighty.
