I'm 48 yr old man

Take 1/3 dose aspirin daily

I take it 1st thing in Am along with lipitor and
lisinopril tablets

However.... I could take it after lunch no problem

Any benefit to me taking the aspirin later in day and
not loading my stomach up with all the chemicals first
thing in AM?

You may stand a better chance of not damaging your stomach lining if you
take it after a meal, instead of on an empty stomach.

YIKES.

Sort of what I'm thinking.... hence the question

I suffer from GERD.... so wondering if taking the
aspirin say at noon better than piling all those pills
in stomach first thing in AM

Agree?

Not sure it would make a difference. I've been taking a 325mg aspirin every
morning along with prevacid, toprol and flecainide without problems. It
probably doesn't matter when you take it as long as you try taking it at
roughly the same time every day.

Time of day of aspirin does not matter as long as you tolerate it.

The aspirin probably makes no difference.  Many people feel taking
Lipitor at night is preferable.

Really?

How come?

Is that a good idea to start doing?

The reason was already posted in another reply - cholesterol synthesis
by the liver is maximum at night and peak amounts of the drug which
inhibits this synthesis will coincide.  The half life of atorvastatin is
14 hours but the half life of inhibitory action is 20-30 hours because
the metabolites are also active with respect to inhibition (70% of the
inhibitory action is attributed to metabolites).  Because of the long
lived metabolites the precise time when you take lipitor is not critical
but is probably still preferable to take it at night for the reasons
outlined.

The cholestrol levels tend to increase at night..related to the body's
circadian (biological clock) and hormonal levels..Lipitor is most
effective when taken at night.

I assume a 1/3 dose aspirin daily is = 81mg..You can purchase  coated
aspirin...most helpful when a person requires daily dosing.. When to
take is your choice...I personally prefer to take aspirin on a full
stomach..as previously noted it protects the stomach lining....When in
doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
