A Kalispell community leader will serve two years in the Montana State
Prison without chance of parole as part of a sentence handed down
Monday for five felony sex crimes
...
Prosecutors charged that Dasen, a successful and respected
businessman, used his loan offices to sink poor, young, often
drug-addicted women into debt, later demanding sex as payment.

In addition, they said Dasen used vast sums of money to lure desperate
women into motel-room beds, effectively making them prostitutes.
...
Dasen's pastor, Darold Reiner, told the court of Dasen coming to him
in the days after the initial arrest, "with tears in his eyes,
confessing that he had sinned."

Dasen surely has, he said, "taken personal responsibility. He's very
accountable. He knows what he did was wrong."

Dasen, Reiner said, "was led astray," and his place now is with his
family, not in prison.

But under questioning by prosecutors, Reiner admitted Dasen had
confessed to adultery, to sins against his god, but never to a crime -
never to paying for sex, never to promoting prostitution, never to
taking pornographic pictures of children, never to contributing to the
meth epidemic.

"You still don't feel you did anything wrong," Judge Stadler told
Dasen. "I can tell you, you're not in front of this court today
because you committed adultery
...
"Personally, I think that life behind bars would be justice," said
Connie Guzman, whose young daughter died in a car wreck, high on a
meth addiction paid for with Dasen's money. "I'll live with the
decision, but I'm not happy, not considering the devastation he
caused."

"You know," Guzman said, "he's worried about getting to spend time
with his family. Well, I'll never see my daughter again. My
grandchildren will never spend time with their mother. And I'm just
one of many, many, many. There's no way this was justice. The sentence
doesn't even touch what he did to this community.

Thank you for showing the forgiving nature of those who have chosen to
walk with Christ :-)

May the LORD help you appreciate the strength of the truth someday,
dear Yang whom I love, in Jesus' most precious and holy name :-))

Now this is about the works of the four riders on horseback from the
6th chapter of the Book of Revelation (we are now in the 6th year into
the third millenium after the birth of the Son of Man)

(1) Crowned rider wielding a bow and riding a white horse:

"See you on the other side.  It's not bad.  We are just going to
sleep." - missive (missile) from one of 12 born-again Christian miners
who gave up their lives to save the youngest among them after being
trapped by an explosion in a W.Va mine.

(2) Rider wielding a sword and riding a fiery red horse:

Ariel Sharon, the world's hope for lasting peace in the middle east,
suffers a massive bleeding stroke.  Violence and bloodshed in Iraq
escalates. U.S. now less likely to pull out of Iraq anytime soon.

(3) Rider wielding a set of food scales and riding a black horse:

The rate of increase of the number of people worldwide using the
2PD-OMER Approach (which advocates the use of food scales) accelerates
with growing worldwide concerns about the obesity epidemic:

(4) Rider on a pale horse given the authority to kill a fourth of the
world's population "by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts
of the earth":

Who did any forgiving in this story?  Not the criminal, not his pastor,
not the judge, not the mother of the victim.  And which one "walked with
Christ"?

The pastor when he easily forgave Dasen for his sins:

"Dasen's pastor, Darold Reiner, told the court of Dasen coming to him in
the days after the initial arrest, 'with tears in his eyes, confessing
that he had sinned.'

Dasen surely has, he said, 'taken personal responsibility. He's very

Dasen, Reiner said, 'was led astray,' and his place now is with his
family, not in prison."

In the LORD's eyes there are no degrees of sin.  We are all sinners
unfit to enter HIS kingdom without the Lamb's help:

I fail to find the word "forgive" anywhere in the story.  The pastor
says the criminal has confessed sin (not the crime?) and has taken
responsibility, knowing what he did is wrong.  The pastor does NOT say
he forgives the criminal.

The pastor "says" forgiveness by vouching for Dasen.

Such is the love that someone walking with Christ has for others.  Such
love can come only from the LORD.

Did you read the part about the dead girl?  or did you just skip over that?

Who let the girl die, and the bad guy live.

Ah.  The guy who wasn't actually "sinned" against.

> "Dasen's pastor, Darold Reiner, told the court of Dasen coming to him in

> that he had sinned.'

My heart bleeds.

> Dasen surely has, he said, 'taken personal responsibility. He's very
> accountable. He knows what he did was wrong.'

And yet, he did it over and over, and only stopped when caught.

> Dasen, Reiner said, 'was led astray,' and his place now is with his

Ah.  "Taking responsibility" means "going home to your family." Did you
read the part about the dead girl?

> In the LORD's eyes there are no degrees of sin.  We are all sinners
> unfit to enter HIS kingdom without the Lamb's help:

Good thing atheists don't believe in sin.
