Dear S.M.C,

One of my friends, who I met this year while attending college, has found
out he has (WPW) or Wolf-Parkinson-White syndrome. This was detected on an
EKG, after he had a bout of palpations.

In the United States, where are some of the better electrophysiology medical
centers? I know in Cleveland Ohio (I've been myself); they have a wonderful
EP team. But how about in the southwest?

Thanks,

Nigel

Dr. Jonathon Langberg is the electrophysiologist that invented the
radiofrequency ablation catheter used to cure WPW and is regarded by
many to be one of the best.  He works at Emory University in Atlanta,
GA.  Would be happy to put your friend in touch with Dr. Langberg.

I did some searching online today, and found a Dr. by the name of Warren
Jackman here in Oklahoma...

Does anyone know about the EP team at OU Medical Center?

To Dr. Chung:

Thank you, I will ask my friend if he would like to email you.

Best Regards,

Nigel

Either that or we could "chat" on-line about it.

The Mayo Clinic has a branch in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Warren Jackman is also one of the best, and he is in Oklahoma City, I
believe

Nigel,

I posted my comment prior to seeing your question--we "cross-posted,"
as it were.  As I said above, Warren Jackman is world-renown in terms
of RF ablation -- maybe more known for VT ablation, but is probably one
of the top 10 ablators in the US/world.

Well,

I've been having cardiac issues myself. My story can be found here:
http://tinyurl.com/8mvmw

I just wonder how good the general cardiologists are here in Oklahoma. I
know when I lived back in San Francisco, I wasen't very impressed with the
cardiac care there. They seem to be a little better here... but I feel their
not being truthful about my condition for various reasons. I'm with an
HMO... so that also might play into my medical care.

Best Regards

Nigel (Q-Wave)

Do not know about the general cardiac care there. When I was
considering EP as a fellowship, I strongly considered coming to train
under Jackman, but then decided to be a regular general cardiologist,
so did not go to Oklahoma.
