For any cardiologists on the ngs:

I used to have severe lower back pains becuase I had been using
old-style drawing boards hunched over for hours doing designs on paper.
Well, I found the EZ rack system with gravity boots that allows one to
hang upside down secured from ankles. i have been hanging upside down
for about 15-20 minutes each day since last 3 yrs. My lower back pain
has vanished and I feel good too. After about 3-4 minutes my heart
starts beating quite slow and I feel relaxed. Also I do crunches while
upside down too.
Now as I am turning forty I wonder if this kind of hanging has any
adverse effects on heart or its valves or muscles or circulation in
general? .
One of my athlete friends was diagnosed with LVH at 40 and that got me
scared a bit.

Any cardiologist, MD/Phd's input is appreciated. Should I discontnue or
stop hanging upside down so much? I would rather have a bit flabby body
than get cardiac hypertrophy or leaky valve or high BP.

Don't forget to breath during the crunches.  Otherwise, the valsalva
maneuver especially while hanging down can potentially raise your blood
pressure to high enough levels to rupture blood vessels in the brain.

See comment and suggestion above.

Understandably.

You are welcome.  All praises belong to the LORD, Whom I love with all
my being :-)

No.

Using inversion boots properly will not cause any of those.

Would be more than happy to "glow" and chat about this and other things
like cardiology, diabetes and nutrition that interest those following

Dear Dr. AC:

thanks for your replies. i asked the same to my cardiologist uncle but
he brushed me off in his usual fashion saying i am no more at an age to
be monkeying around like that.

BTW, i notice some punks have been on your back for your beliefs, it
seems. i am sure its the same band of the "chosen ones" who want the
word Christmas out.

To each his own, I say. Keep up the good work, doc!

Or maybe these people hate to see "Dr." attached to the name "Chung"
instead of ".....Stein" or "....berg" ? Or maybe they just hate
"MD/Phd" attached to your Oriental features ?.

The strength of this country is in legal immigrants who are as bright
as Dr. Chung. I remember in my Masters Of Engineering graduating class
in NJ, out of 12 there were only 2 non-immigrant Americans. The rest 10
of us were from India, Pakistan, China, S. Korea, Malaysia, Dubai and
Poland. And this trend still continues.

god Bless us all.

Or maybe *your* bigotry is showing... How long have you been
anti-semitic? Sound like the old Chung when MU led the bigotry parade
and Chung happily marched in it.

I know a few illegals who are outstanding, too.

We're all immigrants or children of immigrants. And in all my graduating
classes in New Jersey were a bunch of smart people, but we didn't think
to judge them by where they were from or what their ethnic background
was. It sounds like you do judge that way. Pity.

> god Bless us all.

Indeed. With an attitude like yours, you especially need it.

Funny how you sound like yet another Chung sockpuppet. Coincidence...?

Dunno. He praised himself another time in the past few days in posting
as "HeartDoc" as if no one would notice. <LOL> Now that's funny.

Go away, white/and /or Israeli Firster trash (?) . i am no doctor Chung
and i dont even know him except for his technical expertise. I am upset
because of people like u who think America should be only white or
maybe just for Israeli Jews. My first boss , a Mr. Silverman in NYC was
so pissed off at my candiacy in Doctoral program that just because of
my appearance and slight accent he would not miss a chance of
associating me with bus-boys in Indian restaurants and to the cabbies
in NYC. Acording to him, it was hard to digest the truth that I was not
a "cabbie". Thanks to Howard Stern!
If trampy Americans girls would stop "mooning" and come above aspiring
to be Hugh Hefner's girlfriend and stop focusing their lives to
partying and getting "boobs", America would not have to get nurses from
Phillipines and India. This is just an example. So just shut up and
stop abusing in cardiology boards.

Well, then. Your deep education is certainly obvious. Doctoral program,
you say...

Would it be in International Relations, maybe?

Is that what I think? And you *know* what I think? You *know* what my
family looks like? You know the colors of my relatives? The languages
they speak? Where they come from? Where they live on earth?  Looks like
you have that same "gift of discernment" that Chung thinks he has. It
certainly works precisely as well.

You didn't take logic or statistics courses for your doctorate then? You
missed that part about extrapolating from the particular to the
universal? Or dealing with a universe of two for forecasting?

You worked for an a.shole. His ethnicity wasn't the reason for it, his
character was. Howard Stern is a pig. His Jewishness isn't why he's a
pig, his character is. Bill O'Reilly is a pig. Pat Robertson is a pig.
Al Sharpton is a pig. Al Zarkawi is a pig. Al Capone was a pig. All pigs
and all different cultures. The only similarity is that they're all
intellectual pigs. I'm sure you could name a few from wherever you came
from who fit into that same category. There's no shortage of bigots and
prejudiced pigs on this earth.

<LOL> I revise my assessment of your doctorate. I bet it's in sociology
or group dynamics. You have such a wonderful grasp of the American
psyche. Doctoral program, you say...

> This is just an example. So just shut up and stop abusing in
cardiology boards.

<LOL> I'm afraid I have to dismiss your opinions. You are certainly
entitled to them, but I'm under no obligation to honor them,
particularly since I see things rather differently.

The lot of the immigrant is difficult no matter where it happens. All
four of my grandparents were foreign-born and spoke virtually no English
when they came here. I had to learn their languages to speak with them.
They held nasty, hard jobs and my parents were able to do a bit better.
My grandfather was a blacksmith who worked hard all his life and was a
practical realist. He said no one forced him to come here and no one was
obliged to give him gifts. In the Depression, he lost house, farmland
and virtually everything he'd worked and saved for.  So he started over
and built it up again. That's real life. Sure he complained now and
again, but more to the point, he didn't let obstacles stop him.

I sympathize with what your life has been - as much as you've hinted at
- and understand that prejudices are difficult to abide for their
unfairness. But humans are like that - everywhere. Every group has other
groups they sneer about. Human condition.

But it's poor science and silly math to try to deal in groups as though
they were homogeneous. As though they shared all the same
characteristics. Doing so merely reflects a mirror image of the opinions
of your a.shole boss who lumped you with busboys, cabbies and other
people he saw as beneath him. Much the same tone, I suspect, as you
honor American women with. It might be instructive to know what his
immigrant forebears did and see how many had doctorates.

Non illigitimi carborundum. Congratulations on your citizenship.

Is there an echo in this place...?

Sounds peculiarly like Chung speaking from behind that curtain...
Beliefs, riiiiight. Punks. <LOL> No mention of behavior, huh...?

<LOL> How charmingly consistent. "Self-praise stinks," quoted from my
aunt Jeanne c. 1960.
